The AI Divide Between Alignment and Accelerationism

It's kind of interesting watching the rationalist communities of a decade ago divide on AI. Effective altruists are worried about alignment and feel it is their duty to steer it in the right direction.On the other hand effective accelerationists believe that AI is the new fire. It is a tool that everyone should have. It may be used to cause harm or cure sickness. But the good outweighs the evil and moves us forward.It's early, but I predict this is divide will eventually engulf our politics.
